What's the difference between customer Data Deletion requests using Consent API and "Right to Be Forgotten" (RTBF) requests?

  • {{2559984834514246::Consent API}} requests are real-time, while {{2559984834514246::RTBF }}requests have a 24-hour delay (though it can be run immediately upon request).
  • Data Deletion requests via Consent API are reprocessed at {{5449006637378255::30, 60, and 90 days}} to ensure a full deletion. You must submit any data deletion requests in all connected systems and Salesforce clouds.
  • Consent API requests target an Individual DMO and related DMOs. Data must be related to the Individual DMO For it to be included in the deletion triggered via Consent API; Data stored in unrelated DMOs won’t be deleted.
  • An RTBF policy must be created to determine what data will be deleted by an RTBF request. After creating and activating an RTBF policy, submit an RTBF request for a specific Record ID from Privacy Center > RTBF Policies > View All. Note that it "Submitted requests run after a 24-hour delay. After 48 hours, you should submit data deletion requests to Marketing Cloud Engagement. This cadence prevents the reintroduction of marketing subscribers into Data Cloud."
