Harmonizing is putting all the data from a wide range of source systems with different schemas into a single schema provided by Data Cloud named the “Customer 360 Data Model”. Put the data from DLO into DMO.
- What you are referríng to as being the “absolute use cases” is called unification. I like to explain this as putting all the data we know about a customer into a bucket (1000 customers into 1000 buckets) so that you end up with all the data for the customer into a bucket.
- Notice the bucket has all the data for the customer, not the “best” (Golden Record). This bucket is called the Unified Profile.
- Notice that the “de-duplication” process can be conceptually achieved by this Unificarion process… but it’s not restricted to duplicate records because we could potentially have different pieces of the customer (orders, cases, etc) in different sources.
